Hello,

I never read this newsgroup and I don't know if you can help me.

Only thing I know:

I have a new laptop with Norton Internet Security enabled.

I downloaded Gmail notifier, which I always used successfully in the
past, and it doesn't work.

I guess it is because of the firewall?

This is what Google says about firewall problems:

What do I do if my proxy or firewall is preventing access to new mail

If you are using a personal firewall, please note that the Notifier
uses both SSL (TCP port 443) and regular HTTP (TCP port 80).

Now, what do I do with this piece of information? Can anybody help me?

Uninstall Norton, it is completely useless crap that does more harm than
good.
