My subscription for Norton Anti Virus is due to be renewed. My computer
is a member of a domain. When trying to install new anti virus from CD
I get a message to first disable Windows xp firewall. I log on as
administrator but cannot disable firewall. Message says "Windows
Firewall is using your domain settings". How can I disable the windows
firewall in order to install new anti virus?

Speak to your network administrator. Sounds like a group policy has been
applied.
