If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
I gues the subhect says it all:
Is there a good, free firewall out there besides ZoneAlarm? I am trying
to load ZA on to my mother's PC, but keep getting errors on the
install. I would like to try another freeware firewall to see if it is
ZoneAlarm or the PC (my guess is it's the PC b/c ZA has worked on EVERY
PC I have loaded it on to)

Any help appreciated-

m0n0wall is probably about the best, and the easiest freeware firewall
I have seen.

I have production customers running it and they LOVE it!
