If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
Is Windows Defender really necessary if one has AVG, Malware Bytes and
AdAware installed and always up to date ?
Your advice please,Richard

If you are using the paid versions then no, it is not necessary. The free
versions of MBAM and AA do not protect you in "real-time" as WD does.

What kind of careless operation necessitates 'real time' protection?
