Morro was the codename for the FREE security suite that Microsoft will
release for beta testing tomorrow. It will be called Microsoft Security
Essentials.

MY QUESTION: Has anyone been in on the testing? It sure will be a sad day
for 3rd party AV firms like Symantec and
McAfee won't it?

I don't see them shaking in their boots over this.

"The Microsoft Security Essentials Web page isn't working at the moment,
but it should be by Tuesday."
Here it is Monday (the day before Tuesday).

Why?
Just because Microsoft does a new trick?
(until now Microsoft failed in security software.)

And I like to keep my PC safe and sound.
So I don't care for Norton(Symantec) and McAfee and likewise.
There is sufficient choice of reliable and free av-software.

Oh yes, every 3rd party AV vendor will be trembling, just like they were
when Microsoft bought RAV and stuck it in their OneCare product that
barely survived to remain included in the AV comparative testing. Uh
huh, they're trembling for sure.

Gee, I wonder why Adobe hasn't dropped PhotoShop after Microsoft
included Paint in Windows.
