I cant download and AV update with Friefox and I refuse to use IE. Any

I have Firefox and McAfee on my Win2000 box and it's fine.
It's possible the box thinks IE is still the default browser
though. If the only thing that uses IE is McAfee's autoupdate,
it's hardly going to go anywhere unsafe, is it?
