I am really getting pissed of with software that starts to take over
my machine, and now AVG has sadly joined the list of offenders.
Why the hell does it need to reinstall itself on my browser after I
disable it, install yahoo as the default search engine and more?
Really bad. I bought this software as an ANTI-VIRUS package. I don't
want to use Yahoo! I don't want its useless self-promotional toolbar!
That I PAID for this sh*t really annoys me. I can understand this in
free versions, but not in fully-licensed versions.
FAIL.

I have always used the free version. Never ever had any
problems with it.

I too use the free version.
With that the "enhancements/irritations! :-))" complained of, are optional
and can be left out when installing.
Can probably be disabled if installed.

Actually, I didn't say this at all. Everything that I did say - was not
included in your post.

I used it years ago (the free version) and had no problems with it
either.

I don't consider a few false positives to be a real problem on my
system. I don't let the program automatically delete, clean, or
quarantine without my consent - if I did, I *would* consider FPs to be a
problem.
