problem is, I don't have the proper plug at the end to fit the
receiver.

If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
Try your local Radio Shack. They carry all kinds of connectors that may fit.
If you can find the right plug, the rest should be easy. You may also
consider replacing the connector with a matching set that does the job.
