I have a Ademco Vista-10SE unit where everything works perfectly from
the alpha keypads, but when i set the unit to Chime (sound on door
open without alarm), it does not chime - even though the display shows
that the door has been opened.

Is "Chime" displayed in the keypad?

Is something else opened on that zone? - if there's something else on that
loop that's opened the door's not gonna chime.

Is "Chime" displayed in the keypad? - Yes it is.

Is something else opened on that zone? - Chime shows up in the keypad,
and when i open a door the keypad shows that the door (including zone
#) is opened - but no sound.

Thanks for taking time to ask about the problem.

Ok...but is ANYTHING else on the same zone with that door? For instance if
there are 6 windows and that door on zone 3, and one of those windows is
left opened the DOOR will not chime.

Does ANYTHING else chime?

Is the zone programmed as an entry/exit or perimeter?

Enter your code, then "test" If it beeps then, its probably a programming
error
