If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options

First of all, ssh has all but replaced telnet due to security holes. You
might want to find a shell account somewhere or better yet, set up another
PC and ssh or telnet between the two of them. Then you could watch etherreal
all nite long.

I get the impression he wants to observe "clear" traffic and not encrypted.
