I recently downloaded v1.4 and ran it without first un-installing
v1.3. I installed it in the same directory as v1.3. I did this on
both a Win-98 system and XP sp2. It installed and ran just fine.

I did the same thing with the recent update to Ad Aware. In that
case, during the install, it told me it was going to un-install the
previous version, so I let it.

PS: Maybe I should double-check this, but does Spybot say that during
the innoculation process on an XP system it protects against something
like 5000-odd items while on a Win-98 system the item count is
something like 3k?

I think it waqs discussed in the lat.privacyspyware NG that the makers of SpyBot
S&D
recomend removing the old version first.

I don't know anything about the innoculation process. Sorry :-(
