I have a desktop Dell with Windows 98se. Is there antivirus software that still
supports Win 98? I tried Avast, and spent a day and a half trying to get it out
of my
computer because I couldn't get online. Other than Avast is there a antivirus
download for Win 98se (with updates)?

Google on "win 98se anti-virus", and you will find quite a few (old)
programs out there, many of them freeware. AFAIK, most are no longer
updated, which doesn't matter much, since new malware is targeted at
NT/2000/XP/Vista.

I don't usually recommend ditching an older OS that people are happy
with, but in this case I do: get rid of Win98SE. That is, get rid of
that ancient Dell, and buy a new computer. First, burn all your data
onto CDs, of course. Pretty good laptops are available for half or less
than you paid for that ancient Dell when it was new. If you're quick,
you can still get one with XP on it, which I prefer over Vista, mostly
because the latter has even more useless glitz than XP. More
importantly, XP will run on less powerful (and therefore cheaper)
hardware than XP.
