Currently using Kaspersky v6 av and ZA pro. ZA already expired and
Kaspersky will in about 2 weeks. Looking at my options (the ones Ilike
anyway, but am open to others) I can go with Kaspersky internet
security, or with Comodo for the firewall and either Nod32 or Kaspersky
AV. Anyone have experience with any of these?

Or you could look at ESET Smart Security (incl. firewall)
http://www.eset.com/download/registered_software.php

I use NOD32 AV (3.0.566) plus Online Armor Free 2.1.0.031

I am also using NOD32 v3 and Online Armor and I'm quite
pleased - no noticeable slowdown, on a fast but single core
machine.
