Walks like a virus, quacks like a virus, must be a virus.
Before i can take measures to get rid of it I need to identify what it
is.

My desktop icons keep changing. What is apdf file might have Word icon.
A jpeg file might have a outlook icon.

You get the idea.

Anyone know what critter this might be?

Z.

No shit Sherlock. I tried the virus scan and came up empty. Why the

If no antivirus scanner finds anything then there's either no virus or
it's something new nobody knows about, in which case nobody can
identify it for you. See Watson? It's very elementary. And you don't
just try "the virus scan", whatever the hell that is. You try several
different antivirus scanners.

Viruses don't quack, you must be thinking of ducks.

Try posting to some duck or waterfowl groups. Duck questions
are off topic here.
