If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
tried all the popular programs, even those who claimed they can clear this
(trojan?), message that ibm00001.exe cannot be found pops up every time the
PC gets launched
any suggestions?

Find the registry key(s) that's trying to load it and delete the reference to
the file, or delete the
entire key if it does nothing else.

Start > Run > regedit [return] > edit > find > ibm00001.exe [return] >
modify/delete the key > f3
to get next entry, until none left > file > exit > reboot

in folder
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftware/Microsoft/Search Assistant/ACMru/5603

I found this line

ab 015 REG_SZ ibm00001.exe

can I just delete it like that? should I (and if so how) do I backup
registry to be on safe side?

You can delete everything from .../5603 except the line with Default in it.
But this is a Most Recently Used file list, not something that makes things run.
No other references to ibm00001.exe ?

Use AutoRuns from SysInternals.
Search on "ibm00" to see where the startup entry is located.
