Go to regedit and export the registry to your desktop. Allow Spybot
to fix the problems, reboot and see if anything falls apart. If bad
things happen restore the registry you saved and reboot. Spybot also
has a "Recovery" function that allows restoring specific changes.

Spybot, or any other scanner, uses a lot of CPU time while it's
running. You need a LOT of memory and a fast processor to do that
kind of multi-tasking.
