Hello...

I'm looking for professional grade anti-virus program for a
business (150+ computers Win32) that can do scans while the
computer is logged off. Sophos sales said they could do it, but
I haven't been able to get it to work. I've read that NAV can't
do it. Panda looks doubtful, but I'm trying it.

Any suggestions?

Thx,
D.

NOD32 runs as a service using the Local System Account. I am pretty sure
that it will scan the machine with the service and the job has been
scheduled with NOD32's Job Scheduler with the machine logged off.

I have one machine scheduled everyday for a scan without being logged onto
the machine.

Duane :)

Oh yeah, the service logon. I changed Sophos service logon from local service
to local system and it appears to be scanning during logoff.

Thanks for the nudge.

I'll research NOD32. I'm not married to Sophos or any other solution yet.
Hearing good things about NOD32. But, boy, do users have a lot of opinions :o).

Thanks again,
D.

We switched from Norton to NOD32 about a year ago for our 80 PCs at our
site. When we made the switch, NOD32 found dozens of trojan-infected PCs
that Norton had missed. -- I love NOD32. Works really well, fast, small
footprint, great centralized control-pad. Big thumbs up from me.

McAfee VirusScan v7.1E or v8.0i. Just provide the NT Service account or an
administrative
account and password.
