It is NOT in "add-remove programs".

Removing all references through "regedit /v" has NOT solved it.
I still have a red Icon in the systray and it is still on the desktop
with 'properties' showing as - file:///C:/WINDOWS/screen.html# - when
removed from 'windows' and rebooting the damn thing is right back - - -
there is NO DELETING or REMOVING it.

Even though the Domain: antivirus-gold.com was registered TWO momths ago;
the contact telephone number provided at registration: 507-792-3612
"cannot be reached as dialed".

Any suggestions, other that formatting the Hard Drive?

Thanks.

The Icon in SysTray left after running "HijackThis".

I hope that the 'box' which appears to be soldered to the desktop will be
gone on re-boot. Won't know that until late morning though.

It was still soldered there.

I removed it through "regedit /v" . . . [My
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Desktop\Components]

Hmm. What does the Desktop (Explorer) have to do with the browser:
"Internet Explorer"?

One passes command lines to the other based upon URLs and IE is integrated into
WinXP pretty
tightly.
