The good news is the problem was pretty much sorted out with an "upgrade
repair" of system lastnight - with my old CD. Not a lick of 48 digit
re-activation crapola came of it, but just to be sure I validated online.
After finding some damage in "manage add-ons" in IE and making repairs, I
rescanned at Bitdefender this morning.

It still didn't allow me to export a copy of the scan as a file at the end,
because it hung up on file 52187 of 52189, and did nothing for 10 mins, but
the end result was no viruses found. I still had to use Task manager to
kill it - and bdoscan8 about dug its nails into my browser trying to keep
from going down.

AVG is working fine, I deleted the AVG7QT.dat file, and did a quick system
scan (All areas were normal - Had thought possibly MBR infector.) The three
viruses it initially detected 2 were in unopened hotmail bulk folder, and 1
was in the avg virus vault.. stng60.exe was definitely a false positive.
