Researching a strange problem whereby a clients outlook express settings are
changing - the POP server address was changed from pop.xxxxx.co.uk to
127.0.0.1. I corrected this about 4 weeks ago and this morning the same has
happened again. The machine has been checked with all the usual
spyware/virus checks.

Its strange that the address is changed to the machines loop back address ..

thanks

Geoff

fraid not.. avg goes tits up every once and awhile and changes the pop3
address to 127 etc as did earlier versions of norton... neither program
needs to do this to virus check mail!

With Avast (in the past), it wasn't really a bug, but a procedure they used
to create a proxy and allow the AV package to scan the OE e-mail. The
recent versions no longer use this process, however.
