If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
I am running Norton 2003 with windows xp pro. When I start up my
machine Auto protect is always disabled. Any ideas how I can fix this
problem

your subscription is still valid? happens to me too, have NAV2003 on 2
xp machines

If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options

Check under "Services" (Administrative Tools in Control Panel) that that
particular service (not sure what it's called, but it will be referenced
to Norton or Symantec in some way) is switched to "automatic" ... not
manual, or disabled.

Thanks, it was set to manual. I will reboot once my backup has finished
and see what happens.
