post.

No problem, I still can't make my mind up what protection to use on the
new PC I am building

I was thinking ZoneAlarm (free) + SpyBot S&D + Adaware + KAV. Obviously
I wouldn't need ZA if I had KIS instead, but I am still undecided about
whether KIS protection would do away with the need for Spybot and
Adaware

I used KIS for three years and run Spybot and Adaware periodically.

My experience has been that KIS seems to pick up everything except
that Spybot picks up doubleclick (which I understand is not
significant). Adaware always comes up clean.

I have, perhaps unwitting, confidence that KIS is getting all the bad
stuff.

You may wish to consider to disable the e-mail scanning function during
installation (Custom Installation on some AV apps.) as it provides no
additional protection.

In fact, most of experts (incl. Norton) believe that scanning incoming and
outgoing mail causes e-mail file corruption.
Google is your friend :)

I use KIS 7 & Thunderbird but I noticed that when I used the email
screener it added '[!! SPAM] ' to the subject line of every email so
I turned the screener off.

Is there a way to stop it changing the subject line?
