Kaspersky version 7? Steve Pope 12-13-2007

I'm interested in getting the current version of Kaspersky AV,
Version 7, (their pricing of 3 years, 3 computers for $140 seems
lower than the credible competition), but neither Cnet nor
PCWorld has reviewed this version yet.

Is Version 7 as good as Version 6, or are there any problems
with it? Some details: it would be going onto two XP machines, one
XP Home the other XP Professional. The second machine came with
a Symantec trial version that will need deleting, the first machine
is clean.

Thanks,
Steve

Version 7 has been better than version 6 from my perspective. Here, I'm
talking about the full KIS as opposed to KAV but KIS does include all
the elements of KAV. What I particularly like about Kaspersky is the
incredibly responsive Forum if you have a problem or query - there are
experts, beta testers and Kaspersky people themselves there to help.

I have no idea, I'm afraid, I think so but one could enquire via the
forum itself, I guess.

Thanks for the input on the chkdsk problem. It seems they are
not planning to totally fix this before version 8. (Whenever that
is.) Maybe that is a negative, especially as one of my target
machines has no CD/DVD drive and I'm not sure what my procedure
is for wiping/reinstalling Windows on that machine.
