If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
I am using BitDefender 8 Free Edition with Windows 98 SE.
When I check "Status" the "Virus Shield is not loaded" is not checked.
Does this mean I do not have virus protection?
If so, how do I load it?
I have tried clicking on the box to no avail.

Right. There is no "On Access" scanner in the free version. It is only an "On
Demand"
scanner. Therefore it doesn't protect, it is there for detection and removal.
