If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
Sorry about posting this here but am having difficulty posting in the Avira
Forum.
I have used the Avira Free version for 2 years now and always used the
server for Definition Updates.
Been away from home for a while so decided to download the vdf from the
Avira site making sure that I got the Unicode version for XP.
For some reason though it fails to install - I've downloaded the update file
3 times now so I doubt that it's a corruption issue.
This is what I get on the screen when trying to update:
Checking the new files
Stopping Services
Updating file(s)
Starting services
Stopping services
Starting services
Update of the VDF update kit failed.
Can anyone shed some light on this ?
