I'm using Avast Home Edition ver 4.6 on WinXP Pro.

I keep getting a pop-up that there is a new version of Avast
available. Does anyone know if it's stable, has any advantage over
what I now have, and is OK to download?

What's the build number?

I'm using 4.6 Home Edition Build Jul2005 - 4.6.691

From within the program I'm told this is the current version; it's working
smoothly. Nex

Looks like you said...

By NO MEANS am I an expert, but I've used Avast for close to a year
now and have had NO problems I can see. I get all the updates and
upgrades as soon as they come out.
