I'm running off memory here, but this is the grit of it.
I don't believe there is a button called "Start Internet Update". There
is the context menu ("Internet Update") and the "Start" button within
the update itself.
Since you didn't speak of doing both, I assumed you may have gotten the
two confused. I know I used to. I guess I made another mistake here.

I have no current problems with Anti-Vir. It gives me a progress bar and
informs me each time a step is completed. Even the final step.
