Hi

With the many choices of anti virus/firewall software available does anyone
know where I can find comparative reviews.

I'd like to find out which is considered the most effective at detecting
viruses.

I'd also like to know which is the realistic recommended minimum PC spec for
each a/v product.

Some a/v software place quite a load on system resources and can cause
performance to slow down considerably. And manufacturers suggested minimum
spec can be way too low for satisfactory performance.

Symantec's Norton Internet Security is often used as the reference by which
others are judged but I've found this can cause some machines to run really
sluggishly.

There is of course free software available e.g. AVG and Zonelabs. How do
these compare with paid for versions?

For older machines running windows 98/ME which software provides the most
effective protection for those?

Thanks for any info.

Ian
