If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
Using AVG 7.1.385
Virus Base Updated March 21, 2006 to 268.2.6/287
WinXP Home Edition OS, Pentium 4 laptop

After the above update my outgoing mail was all returned as undeliverable by
"AVG for Email"
with the message "Please configure your mail client to use authentication."
(Incoming mail was unaffected)

No OE settings were changed and I was already using authentication for SMTP at
my ISP account.

I adjusted for it by turning off the AVG e-mail scanner completely and
restarting the computer,
so now I can send mail again. I figure the update was responsible and will be
corrected in a future
update (just a guess).

Anyone else have this problem today?

The easiest solution would be to disable outgoing mail scanning. It is of
dubious value at best.

Thanks CT.
I found a "solution", what I want to know is if anyone else had the same problem.
