If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
I'm getting pop up messages when I turn on my computer that AVG isn't going
to be free any more after January 15. So what do you all recommend that I
switch to which will continue to be free?

No, that is not what the messages tell you!

There is a NEW version of the FREE AVG available.
The support for the OLD version will be stopped.
