Last Tuesday, I decided to upgrade my Windows XP Home machine (with an
AMD XP3400+ inside) to the said size, 3 GB of ram (the new RAM is from
Infineon and should be good), as some of the modern games need a lot of
room in the working storage.
Today my system crashes, first with a mere ram address, then ntfs.sys
(ouch), and then, while I do a hard disk check, the system gets a
problem with explorer.exe (I had started the hard disk check from the
Windows Explorer)
After this I did a virus signature update of the AVG (ver 7.5.441), and
now things have settled down a bit (knocks on wood)
Are there any known incompatibilities with AVG and RAM of that size?
TIA
