After screwing up my AVG installation the other day, I decided that if
I was going to reinstall, I might as well get the latest version. So I
hopped over www.grisoft.com to download myself a copy. But although I
mucked about for a while, I couldn't seem to find a link. Does Grisoft
no longer offer an AVG Free Edition? Even www.avgfree.com just
redirects me to the main site. Is this a result of the Intel buy-in?
It's a shame if this is the case; I do like using AVG as a
"second-opinion" scanner...

Go to http://www.grisoft.com, click on "AVG Products" on the left side
of the page, and AVG Free Edition, ninth from the top, OR go to
http://free.grisoft.com.

D'oh. Of course. There it is. *NOW* I see it.

In my defense, I'll claim -completely irrationally- that the link
wasn't there when I first went looking. It was, like, I don't know, on
vacation or something. Yeah, that'll do.

It's either that or admit I've gone blind and dumb.

Thanks to everyone that pointed out the obvious to me.

But now that Intel has bought a share in AVG your subject line may
indeed be true in several months time..
